🎶🎸🌅Rockin’ on the River: June 6th, 2018
About the Artists:
Moriah Formica is passionate. She loves music and believes in its unique power to inspire and motivate people. It is no mistake that her music career has skyrocketed in such a short amount of time. It is also no mistake that she received all four chair turns during her audition on the 13th season of NBC’s The Voice. Moving on to join Miley Cyrus’ team and perform for millions of viewers on national television. Born and bred in the Capital Region, this young artist began singing at the age of 6, and picked up the guitar easily by the time she was 12. Taking vocal lessons and playing in a band at Modern Day Music, gave her the platform to quickly develop and grow into a more skilled musician and performer. She was fortunate to work with incredible coaches who taught her how to use her gifts.
The 17 year-old belts soulful, gritty, Pat Benatar-ish performances while shredding her guitar. She has performed numerous covers and originals live and for recordings – including a 2016 EP, “Bring It On” — long before she auditioned for “The Voice.” She wants to engage. Speak to “people’s hearts.” Give them something to remember. “And course,” Formicah says, “music can unite everybody, I believe.”
Opening act Margo Macero has been playing guitar since the age of 7 and has been an active performing artist since the age of 12. Neice to Teo Macero, a revolutionary producer for Columbia Records, she carries music in her blood. Teo Macero is known for his work with Miles Davis on producing the best selling jazz album of all time, “Kind Of Blue.” She began attending the Berklee College of Music in 2010 and went on to release a five song EP, titled, “It is What It Is.” at just 19 years old. In 2016 she won best vocalist of New York’s Capital Region. She is known to deliver bone chilling performances with power house vocals and aggressive guitar solos of emotion. With the ability to inspire millions, Macero is not only a genuine artist, but an inspiring and relatable person.
